Or just a kid and a visceral statement, I Am Here. This Is My City. The ur-point of the graffiti tag, legible in any culture - fuck your matte black building site hoardings, here is the human element...
I like your interpretation of the handprint- I've never thought of it in that way- but it's true, and kind of sad that we don't see the black hoardings as a human element- after all we put them there.
Hi Katie - Go ahead! The photo's taken at the top end of City Road, junction with Torrens Street, in the Angel, Islington district of London. Date: January 2010. My name's Jay Owens if you need an author to credit.
This is an ongoing documentation of life in the City - the definitive city, the greatest city in the world, the only city I could ever live in. Seven million people and seven million stories, each person's steps tracing a different path, building a different city out of habit & perception. I want to establish the parameters of my city, the places I go and the spectres these places evoke. This is my urban experience.

Ohey. Where exactly is this photo taken/when? I'd like to use it in my dissertation and your comments if that is cool? Its on the human hand.
